Dear Friends,

Peace! As always, I hope this finds you healthy and happy. As I write this note, I am in Georgia at the retreat center that Roy Eugene Davis founded many years ago (CSA). Being here has deepened my appreciation for the universal relevance of Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings and the pristine purity of Francis of Assisi—especially in these chaotic times. I believe the consciousness of Francis, Yogananda, and the Kriya Gurus (as well as spiritual Masters from other lineages) are holding the world aloft, keeping it from crashing entirely. As a spiritual community grounded in the teachings of Yogananda and Jesus, we are doing our humble but necessary part in helping these Masters to bless humanity with the healing balm of holy simplicity, sacred peace, and God’s love.

In this spirit, I am asking you to consider donating to our $13 Campaign in gratitude for the past 13 years we have enjoyed in our building. Any donation you can make in denominations of 13 will help us in our work of becoming channels of God’s love in the world. We are launching our campaign on Friday, October 4, the feast of Francis of Assisi, and concluding it on Thanksgiving Day, November 28. Some of our 2024 highlights include:

  • Our ability to pay for our mortgage, utilities, and necessary building maintenance because of your generous support.
  •  We are offering four different online courses with students from across the country. We even have some international students!
  • This summer, we hosted over 70 participants for our popular 5-day summer retreat, some local and others visiting us from different parts of the US.
  • We have an actively working succession committee mapping out the goals and objectives for a thriving future at Assisi.
  • Both in-person and virtual attendance at our twice-yearly weekend retreats continues to grow.
  • Our yoga program continues to offer diverse classes and workshops.
  • We are forging healthy, supportive relationships with other communities that follow Yogananda, such as the CSA in Georgia and Ananda in California.

If possible, we hope you will join us through our $13 Campaign to provide a space of learning, peace, and open-heartedness—today and for future generations. You can donate on our website at www.assisi-institute.org or mail/drop off a check to the Assisi Institute, 1400 N. Winton Road, Rochester NY 14609. From the bottom of our hearts, Vicki and I want to thank you for all of your past support, as well as your future support of our mission. Together, we have the privilege of being ambassadors for Yogananda, Francis, and our Gurus. To serve as ambassadors for our Gurus is the greatest blessing we can imagine! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Once again, thank you.

Please donate here.

With gratitude and blessings,

Isha Das and The Assisi Institute
