I want to make something very clear: the development of spiritual intuition is not the same thing as observing, analyzing, or critiquing our perceptions. Spiritual intuition is the willingness to enter into a kind of interior darkness that Jewish mystics call KAVANA (profound meditation). Such deep meditation, which is death to the ego, leads to intuitive knowledge wherein the very light of God illuminates our understanding. God’s light must necessarily blind us at first. Paradoxically, this blindness enables us to see as God sees and to actually know God. Seeing and knowing God is not just for a few fortunate souls, but everyone. We have been created to live our lives from a place of conscious communion with God, not only in a future heaven, but here and now. It is heaven all the way to heaven!

Master Jesus, Beloved Yogananda,
May I be willing to lose my life
So that I can save it.
