Some souls in heaven have reached such a state of realization that they have no karma whatsoever. They fully embody the divine life; they are God-like. These magnificent souls exercise a great deal of influence on the spiritual evolution of other sentient beings in the various dimensions of reality, including planet earth. These “saviors” work to draw all of creation back to God. On planet earth, these divine souls incarnate periodically to help the human race to evolve during a difficult period of history. Think of Mary the mother of Jesus, Krishna, Babaji, Anandamayi Ma, and other Divine Incarnations. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ holy birth. We are wise to prayerfully and meditatively enter into the Christmas spirit, so that the light of Christ Consciousness might become more alive in us and in the world. Valentin Tomberg describes a holy birth in this way: “Holy birth is the remembrance of the divine which is the force which accomplishes incarnation. It is not thanks to forgetting of the divine that the soul is then incarnated, but rather thanks to its remembering. The soul is incarnated in the state of habitual union with God. Then its will does not lose memory of the divine. This memory acts in it, imprinted as it is in the soul’s will, during the whole terrestrial life which follows a holy birth.”
