June 10th – 12th 2022

When you think about the next generation, what do you most hope for? If you are looking for ways to help shape the lives of tomorrow’s adults, consider taking a special opportunity to come to the Assisi Institute as we prepare to host a Kids’ Yoga Camp this summer and launch a weekly program this September.

Join NYC-based teacher Lara Hocheiser, founder of Flow and Grow Kids Yoga and author of multiple nonfiction books on mindfulness, and Rochester yoga teacher Krystal Stimus as they bring a special children’s yoga and mindfulness training and retreat event to our area.

Picture the ripple effect of the children you impact. Imagine what is possible with us as you learn:
* Mindfulness appropriate for the classroom and life anywhere (4 hrs, 18+ activities)
* Yoga for children methodology based in child development and best practice (6.5 hours, more than 50 activities)
* Yoga philosophy for children in secular and nonsecular settings. (6.5 hours)

This training is all-inclusive and suited for all levels of yoga or mindfulness practice. We cater to all learning styles: visual, kinesthetic, and reading/writing. Continuing Education Credits are available through Yoga Alliance, as well as progression into a 95-hour children’s yoga certification. All who complete the course will receive a 150 page book full of resources for all settings as well as a certificate of completion which will be appropriate for your use as a teacher/facilitator for Kids’ Yoga.

All participants will have the opportunity to make the weekend into a retreat at the Assisi Institute, which features a yoga studio, temple, and lovely grounds. Community meditation and asana practice, chanting, a catered, shared meal Saturday evening, and even a sound bath will make this weekend training into a gift you can give to yourself. A number of rooms at the Assisi Institute will be available for those who wish to stay overnight Thursday (for early arrivals) through Saturday. We highly encourage fully immersing yourself in this experience! Rooms will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. A small kitchen is available for preparation of vegetarian-only meals.

Enjoy a look at our tentative schedule for the weekend here.
