There are two ways of looking at the world and our existence: either everything is merely the result of random mutations, or, creation is the handiwork of the Creator. If the former is true, then life has no inherent meaning or value, because our existence is the coincidental artifact of a cosmic roll of the dice. Yogananda referred to this perspective as “materialism.” By contrast, if God has birthed everything into existence, including you and me, then life is overflowing with precious purpose, and this means everything matters, most especially people. We do not create meaning out of thin air. Rather, we discover life’s meaning as we open our hearts to love, mystery, the creative spirit, truth, beauty, goodness, suffering, and the needs of others. Yes, everything matters. You matter, because you are God’s impeccable handiwork!
Divine Mother,
Because you have birthed
Everything into existence,
Life overflows with precious purpose.
