A Bit Of News:

The Blessing Shop will be open before and after Kriya on Thursdays. For other times, simply call Muktima at 585-734-9232, and she will be happy to meet you.

A prayer jar near the Divine Mother’s altar at the back of the temple is a wonderful, tangible way to leave your heartfelt concerns in our sacred space. You are most welcome to write down your intentions when you are here. You may also email your intentions to prayers@assisi-institute.org.

Do you enjoy fellowship after Kriya on Thursdays? Your help is needed! We are looking for volunteers to host fellowship time by providing set-up, clean-up, and simple snacks. Email Purnima here for more information.

When you come in person for a service, please bring non-perishable food items to support St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality. You will find a large container in the south (main) foyer.

Welcome

Located in Rochester, New York, The Assisi Institute is a place of stillness, silence, and peace. Our mission is to support individuals who seek a deeper relationship with God. We study and practice two spiritual traditions: Kriya Yoga, a yoga of breath and meditation, and Mystical Christianity. Kriya Yoga was brought to the United States in 1920 by the great Hindu guru and author of the classic Autobiography of a Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda. Our Christian gurus include Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, and others. All of our study and practice is compatible with any spiritual tradition, or no tradition.

At The Assisi Institute, we study and practice a spiritual lifestyle based on meditation, contemplation, and seeking interior stillness in the midst of our busy world. We practice lifestyle choices that lead us to find truth, beauty, and goodness. We are a caring community of like-minded learners who are passionate about our individual and collective inner peace. We warmly welcome you to join us!
