Covid spreads, our climate destabilizes, and Afghanistan implodes. These are but a few of the steep challenges that currently face our human family. What are we to do? The answer is simple: be not afraid. Fear lies at the root of many of our planet’s woes. Fear robs us of our peace, handcuffs our ability to think rationally, and suffocates our conscious connection with God. I am not suggesting we bury our heads in the sand or deny the darkness that confronts us. The antidote to fear is faith in God’s loving providence. For sure, faith in God does not always make rational or empirical sense. We must remember that “God guides the heart, not by ideas but by pain and contradictions,” as Jean-Pierre de Caussade explained. Regardless of what is happening in the world, place the eye of your soul on God. Pray, meditate, and perform many acts of love throughout the day, remembering that God’s love is the most powerful force in the world.

Divine Mother,
Beloved Guru,
Over and over again you tell me,
“Do not be afraid.”
