Few people know that we don’t see physical light directly. Rather, we see light by means of the objects on which light falls. These objects reflect light, thus making it visible to our eyes. If it were not for these objects, the light would be invisible to us. What is true below is true above. The primary way that we see and experience God’s light, spiritual light, is through those people who are reflecting it. Think of Jesus, Yogananda, and Anandamayi Ma. They reflect God’s light in an absolutely pure manner. When we reflect on their lives and words, we see and experience heaven’s highest light which enlightens and elevates us. In turn, we are able to reflect God’s light to others. As we enter into this dark season of winter, let us endeavor to focus more intensely on the light radiating from the gurus and saints we admire and love.
Beloved Gurus,
May I bask in your light
So that it may fill me
And then fill others.
