No matter how spiritual or evolved we might be, unpleasant circumstances will visit us; this is just life. One of the most evolved ways of dealing with pain and suffering is to surrender ourselves to God, and the best way of surrendering ourselves to God is to understand that whatever happens to us is none of our business. It is God’s business only. This perspective immediately takes the ego out of the equation because the ego wants to comment on everything that happens to us, and such commentary always intensifies our suffering. When the ego is taken out of the equation, we are paradoxically able to attune ourselves to the soul’s wisdom, and then we are intuitively capable of navigating any and all circumstances. Remember this truth: nothing happens to us, only for us. In his time of distress, Jesus prayed, “Not my will, but Thy will be done.” A simple translation and mantra for us can be, “As you wish.”
What happens to me
Is God’s business only.
Beloved,
As you wish.
