Why does God allow suffering? I only wish I could give a perfect answer. However, what is true below is true above. When God birthed the human race into existence on planet earth, God ceded a degree of power to us. We refer to this power as free will, and not even God can violate it. Similarly, when people decide to have kids,  they are necessarily relinquishing power because they cannot ultimately control what their children will become. Given all of the world’s misery, some might wonder whether God’s ceding power to us was worth the gamble. It was; otherwise you and I would not exist. So, what is the take away in all of this? The only legitimate use of our free will, our power, is the choice to love God, others, and ourselves. Otherwise, we just create misery upon misery. In living our lives from the energy of love, we cooperate with God in the evolution of the human race and give God a space to work in human affairs. Yes, we need God, and God needs us. One way or another, everything we do makes a difference.

Divine Mother,
Remind me,
The only right use of my power
Is to love God, others, and myself.
