Just as the sun gives life to all the life-forms on planet earth, it is only God’s love that gives life to our heart’s desire for justice, peace, solidarity among people, and joy. Without God’s love we are just rational animals, and rational animals are the most dangerous animals of all. However, the good news is that at the bottom of our hearts beats the very heart of God. Within our own depths, a fountain of love waits to be unleashed into our lives. Yet, because we have all been hurt, we are afraid to access the love in our own hearts. Here, faith comes into play. Have faith in your highest intuition of God. Have faith in your own divinity. Have faith in your own goodness. Have faith in your capacity to love, to make a difference in someone else’s life, and to be a force for good in the world. Will pain and suffering come your way? Yes, but have faith in the power of love to sustain you in any and all circumstances. Every day, endeavor to live from your heart, offering the hand of kindness to others and yourself. Should you encounter someone who rejects your love, don’t take it personally. Just remember that they are afraid; their nervous systems are overwhelmed with stress, and they carry profound levels of trauma from this life and past lives. Because Jesus understood people’s fear and pain, he was able to pray, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
