Paramahansa Yogananda writes, “Truth is exact correspondence with reality.”
Jesus boldly stated, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Ultimately, truth cannot be organized, conceptualized, or scripted to suit a person’s individual needs or temperament. Neither can it serve a person’s temporal gain. Truth is the celestial compass that is rooted within the reality of the Divine. Saint Augustine reminds us of this inherent truth in these words: “Where I found the truth, there found my God, who is the truth.” Truth unfolds through God’s grace and becomes a living reality through the intuitive facilities of the soul. When our hearts are pure, wanting the truth above all else, then an undiluted awareness and understanding arises within us, illumined by God’s Spirit. Then, truth becomes the lamp that guides us through the vast terrain of our souls as we encounter the wellspring of divine reality within our deepest depths.
Jesus, Guruji,
Guide me to the truth
That will set me free.
This week, Kriyabans from the Assisi Institute will share their spiritual journey as Isha Das turns to other work on our behalf. Today’s reflection comes from Conor McCourt.
