“As a mortal being you are limited, but as a child of God you are unlimited.”
Yogananda

We all live our lives according to our internal maps, a set of beliefs we have about ourselves, the world, and existence itself. These maps come to us from our families, culture, religious traditions, and our personal experiences. As the filters through which we interpret our experiences, these narrative maps profoundly impact the quality of our lives. If our narratives are bankrupt, our lives will be psychologically and spiritually bankrupt as well. The good news is that the world’s great saints and sages offer us what I like to call the “Grand Narrative.” The essence of this Grand Narrative is clear: we are part and parcel of something much greater than ourselves; we are literally God-begotten, and the very energy of heaven is the wind at our backs. A higher mode of personality is perpetually available to us, and everything we need to be victorious in combating life’s dragons is already within us. Our task is to live as if all of this is absolutely true.

Divine Mother,
Help me to remember:
As I child of God,
I am unlimited.
