Two of our most common, deeply-rooted primal fears deal with economic insecurity and a sense of personal inadequacy. Most of us spend enormous amounts of energy doing our best to deny, repress, or avoid the anxieties associated with these fears, but sooner or later they will bubble up into our awareness.Such is the human condition. We will not resolve these fears in endless cycles of analysis or by trying to fix ourselves. When we learn to prayerfully place the eyes of our souls on God and to rest in God’s goodness, protection, and love, we will find the real solution. This interior rest is an act of faith. Our faith does not mean that we will never experience anxiety, but it does mean that God’s grace will keep us from being overshadowed by these primal fears— which is the beginning of true freedom.

God, Christ, Gurus.
