A Celebration of Kriya Yoga 2018

View The Path Home Schedule Here

The path home to God is not an individual affair, but a communal endeavor. All Kriyabans, friends of The Assisi Institute, and spiritual seekers are warmly invited to participate in a special weekend of meditation, prayer, chanting, and inspired teachings for day-to-day living. The Assisi Institute draws its inspiration from the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda as well as the rich tradition of Franciscan Spirituality. With these two sacred and complimentary paths as our foundation, the weekend will offer timeless guidance for living a spiritual life on the path of Self and God-realization.

SPEAKERS

Fr. Dan Riley, OFM
Franciscan Friar and director of Mt. Irenaeus will explore the contemplative life, discernment, and “making all things new”

Fr. Dan Riley, OFM, entered the Franciscan Friars after studies in biology at St. Bonaventure University. His reading of Thomas Merton’s early books continued to inspire him to form new models of life in the Church. As a Friar most of his life has been spent in the spiritual formation of youth, the discernment of their call to leadership and service, and retreat ministry among religious and laity both nationally and internationally. A founding member and director of Mt. Irenaeus, Franciscan Mountain Retreat, he and his brothers live a gregarious contemplative life in the foothills of the Allegany mountains where solitude and community life continue to find an active rapport that supports those who are looking for ways to “join with Jesus Christ in making all things new.”

Isha Das (Craig Bullock), MS, MS
Spiritual director of The Assisi Institute and spiritual guide for the event, will highlight the overlap of Kriya Yoga and Christianity

Isha Das (Craig Bullock) is the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Assisi Institute. A Kriya Yoga teacher and ordained Minister with the Center for Spiritual Awareness, Isha Das is an accomplished writer, teacher, lecturer and psychotherapist. Isha Das earned his graduate degrees in Religious Studies from the University of Notre Dame and in Clinical Psychology from the University of Duquesne. His broad and diverse education includes extensive study in psychology, spirituality, and world religions.

Swami Nirvanananda
Monastic of the Saraswati order and world-renown kirtan performer, will share insights and uplifting devotional songs

In 1992, in the holy city of Jagannath Puri in India, Giorgio took the final monastic vows of sannyas and became Swami Nirvanananda Saraswati, meaning “the bliss of freedom from suffering.” A swami is a monk who renounces worldly pursuits in favor of a spiritual life of simplicity and service. Merging the teachings of Kriya Yoga with the devotional aspect of Bhakti Yoga and the charitable path of Karma Yoga, Swami Nirvanananda expresses unity in the diversity of many paths and religions, all leading to the same goal: Universal Love and Oneness with Spirit. Since that time, Swami Nirvanananda has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the United States, and India, inspiring audiences with devotional music and raising funds from CD sales and donations to help others.

Pooja Sinha, MS, MBA
Kriyaban, teacher, and master of ceremonies for the conference, will host the Kriya lifestyle session to promote the Divine Life

Pooja Sinha is a marketing professional, an avid meditator, and teacher at the Assisi Institute. She earned her BA in Economics from the University of Rochester, where she went on to pursue her Masters in Marketing and Masters in Business Adminstration. She came to the Assisi Institute in 2008 and became initiated as a kriyaban in 2010. Since then she has started teaching a Kriya lifestyle course with Stephanie Kelly, as well as co-teaching the Keys to the Kingdom and business leadership seminars alongside Craig Bullock.
