We all love the experience of love. We live for love and will do almost anything for it. The poet Sir Walter Scott tells us, “Love rules the court, the camp, the grove/ The men below and saints above/ For love is heaven and heaven is love.” God is a mystery, but a mystery that is endlessly knowable. We know that God is the highest good we can possibly imagine and more. The only word that even begins to approach the mystery of God is love. Love itself is a mystery, but we know it when we touch it and when we are touched by it. Love is blissful and also beyond bliss. Love heals, elevates, and unites us. Love begets mercy, opens the heart, and inspires courage. Love evolves us toward our highest potential. Love serves the good of all people and all of God’s creatures. Love is the energy that moves us beyond ourselves and into relationships with others regardless of religious or political affiliation. Love makes us human and simultaneously divinizes us. Love is the source of all that is true, beautiful, and good. Love is the most powerful force in all of creation. To know God is love because, as Sri Yukteswar teaches us, “Love is God.”

Divine Love,
Come into my heart.
