Monday: Never in recorded history have there been more words spoken and communicated between people, and never have more people felt isolated, alienated, and divided. Clearly, words alone have no power to heal or reconcile. It is the energy behind the words that effect positive change in the world. Such transformational energy emerges from the Great Silence.
Tuesday: When it comes to nurturing our awareness of silence, we must remember that our souls are perpetually grounded in a state of pure consciousness. In yogic terms, this pure consciousness is referred to as “chit,” which means blissful silence, awareness, and luminosity. Yogananda called this soulful consciousness “super consciousness.”
Wednesday: If we are honest with ourselves, we will readily acknowledge that we tend to be infatuated with desires, fantasies, and allurements having nothing to do with God or spirituality. As long as we remain under the influence of these infatuations, the super-consciousness, peace, silence, and bliss of the soul remains ever elusive, and we suffer.
Thursday: When we place our hearts and minds on God and guru, something magical happens: we are pulled into the gravitational field of their grace, peace, strength, intelligence, bliss, and silence. God is always attending to us, even desiring us, with depthless love.
Friday: We cannot make sacred silence happen; it comes as a grace. Yet, this grace is always being offered to us. It is our job to make room for the silence, thus making room for God.
