Monday: God’s footprints are everywhere; we only have to open our eyes to see them. As a starting point, creation is one big footprint. Biologists can tell us how life unfolds and how cells divide, but they cannot explain the origin of life or life itself.

Tuesday: The Sufi mystic Hazrat Inaya Kahn proclaims, “There is one Holy Book, the sacred manuscript of nature, the only scripture that can enlighten the reader…. All scriptures before nature’s manuscript are as little pools of water before the ocean.”

Wednesday: Recently I was privileged to hold a newborn baby. Of course, I was caught up in the wondrous mystery of life, and a question arose within me: why is there something, anything, rather than nothing? Things did not create themselves from nothing, and neither did the human race create itself from nothing.

Thursday: One of the miracles that I have been privileged to witness as a psychotherapist and spiritual teacher is the resiliency of people who have undergone tremendous abuse, trauma, and tragedy. These people do not merely survive; they thrive in spite of all odds.

Friday: You and I experience the miracle of consciousness every day of our lives, but often fail to notice or appreciate it. Yes, human beings are conscious, and we are conscious of being conscious.
