Monday: When another person stirs anger, resentment, jealousy, or judgment in us, it is our own issue; they have simply struck a familiar nerve within us. Projecting our own toxic issues onto them just adds to the collective chaos that is so prevalent in our cancel-oriented culture — adding gasoline to the fire.
Tuesday: Initially, the experience of God’s light is joyous and liberating. However, if we remain in the light, it illuminates not only our capacity for wondrous seeing, but also our own blindness, fears, attachments, aversions, prejudices, and defenses. Though this inner exposure is never comfortable, it is a necessary part of the spiritual journey.
Wednesday: When we meditate or pray with great depth, the light of God’s presence can be so bright that at times it actually causes us pain. God’s light reveals us to ourselves, causing us to see and feel our pain: our egoic strategies, our need to be in control and even our resistance to love, truth, and beauty.
Thursday: God comes to us as a great and powerful light which enables us to see clearly what is inside of us. At times, this “shadow work” can be very uncomfortable. However, if we stay present to the intensity of God’s light, allowing it to purify our hearts, something marvelous happens: we are given the gift of clairvoyance, that is, being able to see as God sees.
Friday: God is love, only love. Therefore, God’s every action toward us is a loving action, intended to further our spiritual evolution. At times, God’s love comes to us as divine fire, but never to punish and always to purify us of ignorance and all that obscures our vision.
