Zoom Class

May 2 and 16
June 6 and 20
7 pm

Four Monday evenings in May and June, Swami Shantima and Dave Barszewski will be presenting an overview of Tomberg’s Meditations on the Tarot. Tomberg’s Meditations are a rich continuum of the mystical journey— uniting human will with divine will. The text, which is rich with spiritual imagery and symbolism, dovetails smoothly with the teachings of Yogananda in writing that radiates wisdom and inspires intuitive understanding.

We will be using Tomberg as a tool to become more in tune with God by the methods of meditating, praying, thinking, and experiencing together. Tomberg, like Kriya, takes us on a journey of mystical experience where we are transformed by our union with God. As a consequence we become co-participants with God in His work of love on earth. Reading of the text will not be necessary. Printed materials will be presented before each session for our prayerful consideration.

In these four classes we will have a brief overview of the text and a look at the early meditations. We will be considering The Three Stages (Cards 1-3), The Three Vows (Cards 4-6), and The Inner Transformation (Cards 7-9). Reading of the text will not be necessary. Printed materials will be presented before each session for our prayerful consideration.

Dave Barszewski is an ordained American Baptist minister who pastored for 12 years.  He then became a social worker and counselor and worked in addictions for 27 years. Since then, he has supervised a spiritual direction team at the Assisi Institute.

She was an adjunct college supervisor who closely supervised student teacher candidates during their practicum semesters.
