Did you ever notice where thoughts come from? Of course, some thoughts are merely recycled thoughts which possess no freshness or power. Then there are those thoughts that come to us seemingly out of nowhere which hit us like a bolt of lightning. These thoughts can either be dark and troubling or profoundly illuminating and enjoyable. Such powerful thoughts tend to arise from our conscious or unconscious intentions. If our intentions are selfish and destructive, they arise from the depths of hell. However, if our intentions are noble and loving, they come to us from the highest heavens. When you find yourself in a challenging encounter with another person, check your intentions. Do you want to create a win-win situation, or do you intend to be guided by wisdom and love? When Jesus said, “Ask and it shall be given unto to you,” he was asking us to carefully check our intentions. Are we asking God and guru hellish questions or heavenly questions?
Beloved God,
Help me to understand
What are my true motives
And how do my motives
Affect my thinking?
